Bannerghatta National Park- Evolved as One of the Best Practiced Ecotourism Park in India

Image
I have witnessed the evolving phases of Bannerghatta National Park in relation to practicing of ecotourism principles, which is been followed since more than a decade. It is indeed to appreciate about Karnataka Forest Department and State Tourism Department who have have contributed extensively  in maintaining and developing this park. During the year 2007 which was my first visit to this place, I had observed that there were some adherence to ecotourism practices at the park which was like a precedent and case study to other parks and researchers (must confess that it motivated me to take ecotourism as my PhD topic). I have noted in my recent visit to this place that the stakeholders are enormously committed to follow ecotourism practices here. There are many tourism products to see at one place viz. National Wildlife park, Zoo, Butterfly park, food zone with local Chennapatna toys, horse ride, fun rides for kids, etc. The following practices at the park are remarkably

Kannur, Kerala- Ecotourism at its Best!

Image
Recently visited to Kannur with family and was mesmerized to see its eco-friendly services provision meant for all types (generations) of customers.  The Muzhappilangad drive-in beach is at its best, well maintained and following the sustainable practices. The Kavvayi Island is unique with a private beach where one can see tiny fish flying/ hopping. Here the government boat services are available which have some specific timings, one needs to enquire and book before visiting. Appreciate the low level of marketing of boat services and facilities as its required to maintain hard ecotourism practices.  Kavvayi Island  St. Angelo Fort is also maintained with no plastic zone with the staffs sincerely following their duties. The local people are fully aware about their responsibility as citizens to maintain the beauty and sustainability of the spot apart from being friendly and supportive to tourists.
