Abstract Peace is the state of calmness attained when human beings of diverse culture, perceptions, and beliefs understand and respect the diversity of other humans in their surroundings. The understanding and respect are gathered through travel to places, observing and appreciating the culture, living style of the natives. It has been discussed in many tourism summits, conferences, forums, and symposiums about the contribution of tourism towards peacebuilding in the world. Kannur, Kerala- Ecotourism at its Best!

Image
Recently visited to Kannur with family and was mesmerized to see its eco-friendly services provision meant for all types (generations) of customers.  The Muzhappilangad drive-in beach is at its best, well maintained and following the sustainable practices. The Kavvayi Island is unique with a private beach where one can see tiny fish flying/ hopping. Here the government boat services are available which have some specific timings, one needs to enquire and book before visiting. Appreciate the low level of marketing of boat services and facilities as its required to maintain hard ecotourism practices.  Kavvayi Island  St. Angelo Fort is also maintained with no plastic zone with the staffs sincerely following their duties. The local people are fully aware about their responsibility as citizens to maintain the beauty and sustainability of the spot apart from being friendly and supportive to tourists.
