Krem Chympe located in Meghalaya, India, is a notable cave system renowned for its geological formations and rich biodiversity. It gained international attention with the discovery of the world's largest cavefish species, Neolissochilus pnar, within its depths. Neolissochilus pnar which grows to over 400 mm (1.3 feet) and occurs only in the limestone caves of Meghalaya, a state in northeastern India (according to Sci.News). This remarkable find, named after the Pnar, a sub-tribal group of the Khasi people indigenous to Meghalaya, highlights the cultural significance of the region. The species' name, "pnar," pays homage to this community, further emphasizing the intertwined relationship between nature and local traditions.

Krem Chympe, often referred to as the "Cave of the Spirits," is renowned for its geological splendor and cultural significance. Carved over millennia by the ceaseless flow of underground streams, the cave's labyrinthine passages offer a glimpse into a world untouched by the hands of time.
